TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid)

This page is for non-citizens who are classified as Texas residents.

If you are a foreign student or non-citizen, you may be eligible to be classified as a Texas resident for tuition purposes. If so, you may also be eligible to receive state financial aid.

To apply for state financial aid as a House Bill 1403/Senate Bill 1528 eligible student, you must complete the following forms:

 

2017-2018

English

  • Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) and Instructions for 2017-2018
  • You and your parents’ tax return transcripts (for example, 2015 tax return transcripts for the 2017-2018 academic year)
  • 2017-2018 Verification Worksheet – Dependent Student. You are a dependent student if you were required to report your parent(s)' tax information on your TASFA form.
  • 2017-2018 Verification Worksheet – Independent Student. You are an independent student if you were not required to include parent(s)' tax information on your TASFA form.

  • Los transcriptos de declaracion de impuestos suyo y de sus padres del año 2015 tendran que ser presentados.
  • 2017-2018 Forma de Verificacion de la Composición Familiar é Ingresos (Verification Worksheet) – para estudiantes dependientes.  Usted es considerado estudiante dependiente si es necesario que usted declare los ingresos paternales en su Solicitud de Ayuda Economica Estatal de Texas (TASFA).
  • 2017-2018 Forma de Verificacion de la Composición Familiar é Ingresos (Verification Worksheet) para estudiantes independientes.  Usted es considerado estudiante independiente si no se require la información de los ingresos paternales en su Solicitud de Ayuda Económica Estatal de Texas (TASFA).

If you want to pursue a student loan, you may apply for a College Access Loan from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). To request an application from the THECB, click here.
