Scholarships

The following is a representation of the types of scholarships Texas State offers to continuing, certification and second bachelor students. These scholarships are awarded competitively and require the submission of a Texas State Scholarship Application, which will be available February 1. Awards are based on the overall strength of your scholarship application. For information regarding scholarships awarded by your college or academic department, be sure to contact the appropriate dean and/or chair’s office.

  • 28 hrs./yr.

Athena Scholarship for Women

 $3,000

  • 2.5 GPA
  • Financial need
  • Female
  • Single
  • Custody of at least one dependent who is 17 years of age or younger

CenturyLink Scholarship

 $2,000

  • 2.75 GPA
  • Academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities

Foster Care Initiative

$1000

  • 2.25 Texas State GPA
  • Financial need
  • Enroll for at least 9 hours.  However, students who enroll full-time will be given preference.
  • In state conservatorship with the Texas Department of Human Services, Protective and Regulatory Services,  on or before your 18th birthday and must provide Texas with a letter confirming this status. State

Lunelle A. Anderson Scholarship

$1,500

  • 3.0 GPA

Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Scholarship 

Varies

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Leadership qualities
  • Financial need
  • Must have graduated from a high school in Texas.

 *Scholarship award amounts vary from year to year.
