Scholarships

The following is a representation of the types of scholarships Texas State offers to transfer students. You can also find information about these great scholarship opportunities via the transfer scholarship poster. These transfer scholarships are awarded competitively and require the submission of a scholarship application. Awards are based on the overall strength of your scholarship application. For information regarding scholarships awarded by your college or academic department, be sure to contact the appropriate dean and/or chair’s office.

  • Parent, grandparent, sibling or other relative who has attended Texas State

Athena Scholarship for Women

 $3,000

  • 2.5 GPA
  • Financial need
  • Female
  • Single
  • Custody of at least one dependent who is 17 years of age or younger

CenturyTel Scholarship

 $2,000

  • 2.75 GPA
  • Academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities

Emmie Craddock Scholarship

$1,500

  • 3.5 GPA
  • Enroll at Texas State with a major in chemistry, English, history or physics or enter Texas State’s Honors Program

Lunelle A. Anderson Scholarship

$1,500

  • 3.0 GPA

Martha St. Clair (Phi Theta Kappa) Scholarship

$1,000

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Graduate from a two-year college

McCoy Foundation Scholarship of Merit*

$2,500

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Business major

MLK/Rivera Scholarship

$2,000

  • Texas resident
  • Academically competitive
  • Financial need
  • Unconditionally admitted to an undergraduate degree program
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Participation in subsidized lunch program; or
    • First-generation college student; or
    • Participation in Upward Bound, Talent Search, CAMP or Educational Opportunity Center Program
*Scholarship is renewable for up to three years based upon academic performance.

  • Any scholarship or combination of scholarships awarded by Texas State cannot exceed the cost of attendance.
