If you are interested in renewing your Academic Competitiveness Grant award, you are encouraged to do so by filing your renewal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than March 31, prior to the upcoming academic year.
In addition to meeting the general eligibility requirements for the ACG (i.e., Pell eligibility, enrolled at least half-time, etc.), you must meet the Academic Competitiveness Grant Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements to maintain your eligibility. Failure to do so will result—according to federal regulations—in your no longer being eligible to receive the grant.
Eligibility Criteria
1st Year ACG 1 (0 – 29 hours)
· Awarded on completion of a rigorous high school program
· Must be Pell Grant recipient
· Must have graduated from high school after January 1, 2006
· Not more than 2 disbursements
2nd Year ACG 2 (30- 59 hours)
· Awarded based on completed rigorous high school program
· Must be Pell Grant recipient
· Must have a 3.0 cumulative overall GPA after freshman year
· Must have graduated from high school after January 1, 2005
· Not more than 2 disbursements

Evaluation Period
· GPA is only checked once at the end of the freshman year (30 hours).
Appeal Process
· Appeals due to hardship are not available for this program.
GPA
· To receive the 2nd year Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG2), your eligibility is checked only once upon completing 30 hours.
· A minimum 3.0 cumulative overall GPA is required to advance into ACG 2.
· Remedial courses are not included as part of the 30 hours.
