Disabled Students

If you are a disabled student, an allowance for expenses related to your disability can be included in your cost of attendance. Such a change may increase your eligibility for financial aid. These expenses include special services, personal assistance, transportation, equipment and supplies that are reasonably incurred and not provided for by other agencies. If you wish to have your cost of attendance adjusted based on such expenses, please submit a written request with supporting documentation of your disability-related costs not provided for by other agencies to Financial Aid and Scholarships.

A student is considered disabled if he or she has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity, such as if the student is deaf, mentally disabled, hard of hearing, has a speech or language impairment, is visually disabled, seriously emotionally disturbed, orthopedically impaired, autistic, has a traumatic brain injury, is otherwise health-impaired, or has specific learning disabilities that require special education and related services.
