As an academically-talented freshman, you may apply for three categories of scholarships at Texas State—National, Assured and Competitive Scholarships. Scholarships in these categories include the full-ride Terry Foundation Scholarship and $40,000 National Merit Scholarship. Be sure to read the following application and deadline information to ensure you maximize your scholarship opportunities at Texas State. 

To be considered for the National Scholarships and Assured Scholarships, you must complete and submit a Texas State admission application within ApplyTexas at www.applytexas.org. Once admitted, your academic credentials will be reviewed for the National Scholarships and Assured Scholarships. If you meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the National Scholarships and/or Assured Scholarships, an award letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be mailed to you shortly after you are admitted to Texas State.

Competitive Scholarships

To apply for Competitive Scholarships, you must complete and submit a Texas State scholarship application—including essay topics B and C. The scholarship application and essay topics are available via the ApplyTexas at www.applytexas.org. You must submit your scholarship application and essays online, as well as be admitted to Texas State, no later than December 1, 2008.
